I had a wonderful time at MINUS SPACE Friday night for the opening of Neither Here nor There but Anywhere and Everywhere. The exhibition features work by Julian Dashper, Linda Francis, Michelle Grabner, Russell Maltz, Victoria Munro, Carrie Pollack, and myself. Matthew and Rossana did a fantastic job of selecting work and fitting them into an abstract theme of objects in one medium which speak about another artistic medium, such as my cast block of sumi ink, which while sculptural, is all about drawing. Or Carrie Pollack’s “painting” which speaks to printmaking and photography. I’m very happy with how this show came together and I hope everyone gets a chance to catch it while it’s up. The show runs through August 11!

This series is Toner on Vellum, folded with archival double-sided tape. All works begin with an 8.5 x 11 inch page of perfect black space, which then succumbs to the weight of its own history, collapsing the purity of the monochrome surface. (ed 12/12 pictured)
